Over the last year, this team has been focused at supporting our California customer, assisting in their core work of pole replacements and other electric distribution projects. Team members focus on and reinforce INTREN's core values and keep them top of mind.
"We review safety each week – the weekly discussion topic as well as specific learnings from jobs that we are managing. In addition, we adopted the same safe driving practice as California utility customer – no cell phone use (hands free or not) while driving, and we are pushing the team to a higher level of accountability around safe driving practices," explained Anita Davidoo Shahbaz, L2CMS' Director of Operations. "We openly share the weekly driving reports. This visibility and openness definitely drives discussion and change."
"Safeguarding our employees, following the safe driving practices and overall driving accountability has helped our team achieve this milestone," said Sarah Douglas, Director of the Professional Services Division.
This is a lofty milestone to achieve, and the L2CMS team plans to keep pushing for another incident-free year ahead. "We are a team, we support each other, and keep an open and safe forum to share our safety experiences. Often, we are described as "back office support" but we drive a lot of miles to get permits, meet onsite to work through construction issues, perform onsite inspections, and meet with contractors, clients, and our utility’s customers," Anita said.
