As Hurricane Florence begins to pummel the Carolina coast, almost 300 INTREN crew members have mobilized from Wisconsin, Ohio, Missouri, Indiana and Southern Illinois and are at staging areas outside Florence’s impact zone. If the situation worsens, another 360 FTEs are available if requested and released.

“Rapid deployment into disaster areas is where INTREN excels”, said Senior Vice President of Electrical Operations, Dennis Bednarski.  “During Hurricane Irma, one of the most destructive hurricanes to date, we mobilized more than 400 employees and 275 pieces of equipment over a 4-week period amid record temperatures, humidity, high winds and rain, while maintaining a safe work environment.”

Since 1988, INTREN has assisted our utility customers during some of the largest and most complex storm recovery efforts in the U.S., including hurricanes Katrina, Sandy, and Harvey, the Rochelle, IL tornado; and the deadly Northern California Carr fire.

“Our crews complete the highest quality of work even in the worst of conditions,” said CEO Kelly Tomblin. “They give true meaning to OutPerforming. Everyday.”
